MIRACle: Modelin Robotic Assistance

Second annual meeting and workshop of the University of Sofia "St. Kliment Ohridsky" participation in the project Creation and development of Center of Competence in Mechatronics and clean technologies (MIRACle) is focused on present-day advancements in the fields of embedded systems, mobile robotics and autonomous human assistance. Main research topics: - Modeling robotic architecture and components for autonomous Mechatronics services:

  • Prototyping system functions of mobile surface and airborne robotic assistants
  • Data services for sensor streaming
  • High level and intelligent control techniques for mobile robotics
  • Scalable multi-agent, peer-to-peer and distributed embedded systems

eHealth: IS and Health Information Technology Adoption

The scope of this workshop is to combine a broader view, and wider set of topics and major issues in modern eHealth implementation and adoption. Eligible are works related to various topics including, but not limited to: AI in eHealth, health informatics, interdisciplinary studies in e- health, digital health literacy, information technologies in health. The workshop creates an opportunity to meet, and discuss with research workers coming from different fields, but all focused on new perspectives, success stories, good practices and existing challenges in eHealth.

UNITe: Data Engineering, Data Analysis and Visualization

The phenomenon of increasing volumes of data generated by research and indudtry as well as the strengthening of requirements for data management and data sharing have led to the tendency to shift the focus of R&D activities to creating new methods for using available data more effectively by providing interoperability at different levels, working with properly generated low volumes of data and extracting the largest possible value from unstructured, diverse data sources. The principles and methodologies of machine-actionability (i.e., the capacity of computational systems to find, access, store, interoperate, and reuse data with none or minimal human intervention) are one of the main areas of research within the WP3 “Innovative Mathematical Methods and Models in the Digital World” in the framework of the project UNITe, financed by the European Regional Development Fund through the Bulgarian Operational Programme “Science and Education for Smart Growth”. The main objective of the workshop is to provide opportunities to discuss new ideas and results in the thematic areas of data engineering, effective use of data and creation of efficient models for data analysis and visualization.
